This morning, on the feast of the Holy Prophet Elijah, Father of all Carmelites, Fr. Michael of the Heart of Jesus, OCD was installed as the Provincial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Province of Discalced Carmelite Friars. The who chapter and the local community sang the Te Deum in joyful response to the gift of our new provincial and gave him the fraternal embrace. We now ask all the members of the province friars, nuns and secular order members to pray for Fr. Michael as he assumes his new responsibilities and to continue to pray for the work of our Provincial Chapter which will continue through Aug. 1.
We are deeply indebted and grateful to Fr. Jude of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face, OCD for his years of service as our past provincial. May God give him some much deserved rest!
Our Lady of Mt Carmel, St. Elijah and all the Saints of Blesseds of Carmel.... Pray for us!
